Adding Egyptian NumeralsLet’s do an example Find sum of Now, to add this we put them one below another and group them Thus, our sum is Sum = Similarity to our Hindu Number System Addition We note that Left Side (Modern): Adding 47 + 56.7 + 6 = 13. We keep the 3 and "carry" the 10 (represented as a 1 on top). This is the same as trading 10 Strokes for 1 Arch! Right Side (Base-5):They have 3 Triangles and 4 Triangles. Total = 7.Since it's Base-5, they take 5 Triangles and swap them for 1 Square. They are left with 2 Triangles. Also, this is much simpler to do as compared to do than Adding Roman Numerals
