Question 2 (a) Subtract as indicated: a. 13/4 from 10/3 Basically we have to do 𝟏𝟎/𝟑−𝟏𝟑/𝟒 We make denominator same by multiplying both denominators 3 × 4 = 12 So, our fractions become 𝟏𝟎/𝟑=10/3 ×4/4 =𝟒𝟎/𝟏𝟐 𝟏𝟑/𝟒=13/4 ×3/3 =𝟑𝟗/𝟏𝟐 Now, our subtraction becomes 10/3−13/4 = 40/12−39/12 = (40 − 39)/12 = 𝟏/𝟏𝟐
