Question 2 - Page 108 (a) If the game is played for the numbers 1 to 90, find out: (a) How many times would the children say ‘idli’ (including the times they say ‘idli-vada’)? Children said ‘idli’ on multiples of 3 So, we said ‘idli’ on 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, …. and so on We need to find Number of multiple of 3 till number 90 Now, Number of multiples of 3 till number 90 = 𝟗𝟎/𝟑 = 30 ∴ 30 times the children said ‘idli’ Question 2 - Page 108 (b) If the game is played for the numbers 1 to 90, find out: (b) How many times would the children say ‘vada’ (including the times they say ‘idli-vada’)? Children said ‘vada’ on multiples of 5 So, we said ‘idli’ on 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, …. and so on We need to find Number of multiple of 5 till number 90 Now, Number of multiples of 5 till number 90 = 𝟗𝟎/𝟓 = 18 ∴ 18 times the children said ‘vada’ Question 2 - Page 108 (c) If the game is played for the numbers 1 to 90, find out: (c) How many times would the children say ‘idli-vada’?Now, we noted that Children said ‘idli-vada’ on multiples of 15 So, we said ‘idli-vada’ on 15, 30, 45, 60, …. and so on We need to find Number of multiple of 15 till number 90 Now, Number of multiples of 15 till number 90 = 𝟗𝟎/𝟏𝟓 = 6 ∴ 6 times the children said ‘idli-vada’
