Question 3 We are the group of 5-digit numbers between 35,000 and 75,000 such that all of our digits are odd. Who is the largest number in our group? Who is the smallest number in our group? Who among us is the closest to 50,000? The question asks about the group of 5-digit numbers between 35,000 and 75,000 where all digits are odd (1, 3, 5, 7, 9). Largest number in the group: To be the largest but still under 75,000, the number would be 73,999. Smallest number in the group: To be the smallest but still over 35,000, the number would be 35,111. Closest to 50,000: We compare the Number just below 50,000 (which is 39,999) and the Number just above (which is 51,111). Now, 50,000 - 39,999 = 10,001 51,111 - 50,000 = 1,111 Since difference of 51,111 and 50,000 is smaller ∴ The closest number is 51,111.
