Simple Estimation Estimation is ... ... finding a number that is close enough to the right answer. Here, You are not trying to get the exact right answer What you want is something that is good enough (usually in a hurry!) Like We use estimation when: Exact numbers aren’t needed It’s easier to communicate in approximate values The exact value is not extremely important Examples of Estimation Let’s do a question: Estimate hours spent by you in school until Grade 6 Now, we can break down: Estimate hours per school day (e.g., 6 hours). Estimate school days per week (e.g., 5 days). Estimate school weeks per year (e.g., 40 weeks). Multiply it all together, then multiply by the number of years. In essence, estimation is a practical application of mathematics that helps us navigate the world quickly and efficiently when precision isn't necessary. It's about developing a "number sense" to understand magnitudes and make reasonable judgments.
