Question 1 (c) During the daytime a snail climbs 3 cm up a post, and during the night while asleep, accidentally slips down by 2 cm. The post is 10 cm high, and a delicious treat is on its top. In how many days will the snail get the treat? Amount climb up = 3 cm Amount slip down = 2 cm Total height = 10 cm Now, Number of days to climb 10 cm = (𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡)/(𝐻𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛 1 𝑑𝑎𝑦) = 10/((𝐴𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑏 𝑢𝑝 −𝐴𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 𝑠𝑙𝑖𝑝 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛)) = 𝟏𝟎/((𝟑 − 𝟐)) = 10/1 = 10 ∴ It took 10 days for snail to get the treat
