Example 14 Hira has a rare coin collection. She has 28 coins in one bag and 35 coins in another. She gifts her friend 10 coins from the second bag. Write an expression for the number of coins left with Hira. Number of coins in Bag I = 28 Number of coins in Bag II = 35 Number of coins given from Bag II = 10 Thus, Number of coints left in Bag II = 35 – 10 So, Total number of coins = Number of coins in Bag I + Number of coints in Bag II = 28 + (35 – 10) = 28 + 25 = 53
