  • The stock of resources is the total amount of natural resources that exist in the environment without human intervention . It includes both renewable and non-renewable resources.
  • The main factors that influence the spatial distribution of resources are:
  • Physical factors : These include the climate, topography, geology, soil, etc. of a place. They affect the availability and quality of natural resources, such as water, minerals, vegetation, etc.
  • Human factors : These include the population, culture, technology, economy, etc. of a place. They affect the demand and use of natural resources, such as food, energy, materials, etc.
  • Historical factors : These include the past events and processes that have shaped the present condition and distribution of natural resources. They include the exploration, colonization, wars, trade, etc. that have influenced the access and control of natural resources.
