In April 1917 , the Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin returned to Russia from his exile Now he felt it was time for the soviets to take over power so he put forward three demands as his April Theses. 

  • Since 1914 , he and the Bolsheviks had opposed the war . He declared that the war is brought to a close.
  • The land was transferred to the peasants
  • and banks are nationalised.

These three demands were Lenin’s ‘April Theses’ .
