How did the people of Palampur enhance their  production? Explain the methods used for this.

In Palampur, the yield of wheat grown from the traditional varieties was 1300 kg per hectare. With HYV (High yielding varieties) seeds, the yield went up to 3200 kg per hectare.

Two ways of increasing production:

1.Multiple cropping:

To grow more than one crop on a piece of land during the year is known as multiple cropping .  In Palampur, even a third crop like potato was also grown.

2.Use of Modern farming methods:
