  • A new reading public appeared after the printing press was created. The price of books was lowered through printing. Each book could be created in less time and with less labour, and several copies could be made more easily.
  •   Books flooded the market , making them widely accessible to the general public. For instance, widely read books with popular ballads and folktales that were lavishly decorated with pictures were released.
