We will see what air is made up of. This is called composition of air.

  • Air is a mixture of many gases.
  • Major component of air is the Nitrogen and Oxygen gas.
  • About 78% of the atmospheric air is Nitrogen and 21% is oxygen.
  • In addition to Nitrogen and Oxygen, air also contains small amounts (1%) of Carbon dioxide , Water Vapour and other gases.
