There are 2 types of circuits:
Closed circuit:
A closed circuit contains a complete path between the positive and negative terminals of cells and therefore the electric current can pass from one terminal to another.
Open Circuits:
In an open circuit, the continuity has been broken as there is a gap between 2 terminals of cells because of which the electric current is not able to pass.
