  • If we add salt or sugar to water, we can observe that it dissolves in water.
  • But after a certain amoun t, th e salt/sugar will not dissolve further and settle down at the bottom.
  • This stage at which no more salt or sugar can be dissolved in water is known as saturation point.
  • However, more salt/sugar can be dissolved in this saturated solution by heating the solution.
