  • Parents are a child's role model, support system and guide . They influence their children both directly and indirectly.
  • Richard H. Ebright’s mother was loving, caring and understanding. She filled the vacuum in Ebright’s life in his father’s absence.
  • His mother encouraged him to learn new things and fuel his curiosity. She bought him telescopes, microscopes and cameras. She invested time and effort into his upbringing to see his success.
  • Bholis parents, on the other hand, were indifferent and insensitive to her needs. They had a traditional outlook to a girl's life and didn't believe that girls needed education. They sent her to school to save face and be seen as modern parents, not because they were actually interested in her education.
  • She was never groomed. She never oiled and tamed her hair or wore good clothes despite their prosperity. They got her married to Bishamber since marriage was the only thing fit for a girl's life.
