How does the resistance of a wire vary with its area of cross-section?

Answer

We know that

R =  ρ l/A

Where

R = Resistance,

ρ = Resistivity of the material

L = length of the wire

A = Area of cross-section of the wire

Hence, resistance is inversely proportional to the area of cross-section
