Distilled water is free from electrolytes and hence doesn’t have any conducting substance in it.

Hence, it is not a good conductor of electricity.

 

We know that acids, bases and salts are good conductors.

Hence, we can make distilled water conducting by making it

  • An acid

Distilled water can be made acidic by adding lemon juice (citric acid), vinegar (acetic acid) in it

  • A base

Distilled water can be made basic by adding detergent, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in it

  • A salt solution

Distilled water can be made conducting by adding a salt like common salt (NaCl) in it
