Ex 11.1, 8 Rashmi has a road map with a scale of 1 cm representing 18 km. She drives on a road for 72 km. What would be her distance covered in the map?In map, 1 cm represents 18 km Let x cm represent 72 km. Thus, our table looks like Now, as distance in map increases, the actual distance also increases ∴ Distance on map and Actual Distance are in direct proportion 𝟏/𝟏𝟖 = 𝒙/𝟕𝟐 72 × 1/18 = 𝑥 4 = 𝑥 𝑥 = 4 cm ∴ Rashmi has covered 4 cm distance in map
