Question 2 On Sunday 845 people went to the Zoo. On Monday only 169 people went. What is the per cent decrease in the people visiting the Zoo on Monday? Given, Number of people who went to zoo on Sunday = 845 We need to find percentage decreased Now, Number of people decreased = Number of people who went to zoo on Sunday – Number of people who went to zoo on Monday = 845 − 169 = 676 Now, Percentage decrease = (𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑛𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒)/(𝑁𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑤𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑦) × 100 = 676/845 × 100 = 67600/845 = 13520/169 = 13520/(13 × 13) = 1040/13 = 80% Percentage decreased is 80%
