A synonym is a word with the same or nearly the same meaning. Check whether it fits the sentence, not just the dictionary definition.

V. En Dash and Em Dash
Two different dashes

En dash (–) → represents a range or span, such as June–September, pages 50–75 or a score like 2–1.

Em dash (—) → adds extra information or marks a change in thought.

The exhibition—held in the main hall—features local artists.

NCERT note: Do not add spaces around the dash and avoid overusing them.

VI. Possessives and Contractions
