Ex 2.3, 4 Suppose the length of a rectangular box is 7 cm and breadth is 11cm. Find the volume if the height is (i) 5 cm, (ii) 9 cm, (iii) 13 cm. Find the linear pattern representing the volume of the rectangular box. Let’s draw a figure Let Height of cuboid = h cm Length = 7 cm Breadth = 11 cm Height = h cm We find out Volume of rectangular box (cuboid) using formula and then put values of height to find volume if the height is (i) 5 cm, (ii) 9 cm, (iii) 13 cm Now, Volume of cuboid = Length × Breath × Height = 7 × 11 × h = 77h Using this formula finding volume if the height is (i) 5 cm, (ii) 9 cm, (iii) 13 cm Volume when height is 5 cm = 77 × 5 = 385 cm3 Volume when height is 9 cm = 77 × 9 = 693 cm3 Volume when height is 13 cm = 77 × 13 = 1001 cm3 Volume when height is 13 cm = 77 × 13 = 1001 cm3
