Ex 2.3, 3 Suppose the length of a rectangle is 13 cm. Find the area if the breadth is (i) 12 cm, (ii) 10 cm, (iii) 8 cm. Find the linear pattern representing the area of the rectangle. Let’s draw a figure Let Breadth of rectangle = b cm We find out Area of rectangle using formula and then put values of breadth to find area if the breadth is (i) 12 cm, (ii) 10 cm, (iii) 8 cm Now, Area of rectangle = Length × Breath = 13 × b Using this formula finding area if the breadth is (i) 12 cm, (ii) 10 cm, (iii) 8 cm Area when breadth is 12 cm = 13 × 12 = 156 cm2 Area when breadth is 10 cm = 13 × 10 = 130 cm2 Area when breadth is 8 cm = 13 × 8 = 104 cm2
