Question 2 - Page 79 If the base of a pyramid has 10 sides, how many faces, edges and vertices does the pyramid have? What if the base is an n-sided polygon? Let’s image a 10 sided Pyramid - Imagine a 10 -sided base on the ground, with 10 triangles meeting at a single point in the sky. Faces: You have 1 bottom base + 10 triangular side walls. That's 𝟏𝟏 faces. Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝒏+𝟏 Vertices: There are 10 corners on the base on the ground, plus exactly 1 point at the very top. That's 11 vertices. Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝒏+𝟏 Edges: There are 10 edges around the base on the ground, and 10 edges sloping up to the top point. That's 20 edges. Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝟐𝒏
