Question 1 - Page 79 If the congruent polygons of a prism have 10 sides, how many faces, edges and vertices does the prism have? What if the polygons have n sides? Let’s take a 10 sided Prism – a Decogon Faces: You have 1 bottom + 1 top + 10 rectangular side walls. That's 12 faces Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝒏+𝟐 Vertices: There are 10 corners on the top shape, and 10 corners on the bottom shape. That's 20 vertices. Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝟐𝒏 Edges: There are 10 edges on the top, 10 on the bottom, and 10 vertical edges connecting them. That's 30 edges. Formula for an 𝑛-sided base: 𝟑𝒏
