Question 3 Prepare a pie chart that shows the favourite subjects of the students in your class. You can collect the data of the number of students for each subject shown in the table (each student should choose only one subject). Then write these numbers in the table and construct a pie chart: Let the classroom be of 40 students, and our filled data be To make a pie chart, we just need to convert the numbers into angles Since we are given numbers, we convert Number → Ratios → Angles And, our Total angle = 360° Now, our grades are Thus, we can write Angle of Language = (𝑵𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆)/(𝑻𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔) × 360° Let’s do this for all grades Thus, Angle of Language = 𝟖/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 72° Angle of Arts = 𝟒/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 36° Angle of Vocational = 𝟐/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 18° Angle of Social Science = 𝟔/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 54° Angle of Physical Education = 𝟓/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 45° Angle of Maths = 𝟏/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 90° Angle of Science = 𝟓/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 45° We first draw largest angle – 90° and then second largest and keep on drawing the next largest angle Let’s construct it Steps of Construction 1. Our pie chart will look like 2. Labeling it
