Question 17 A number increased by 36 is equal to ten times itself. What is the number?Let Number be x Given that A number increased by 36 is equal to ten times itself. So, we can write Number + 36 = 10 × Number Putting values x + 36 = 10x Putting x on right side, so it becomes –x 36 = 10x – x 36 = 9x Putting term with x on left side as variable is always on left 9x = 36 Putting 9 on right side, so it becomes division x = 36/9 x = 4 Thus, Number is 4
