Question 15 The height of a giraffe is two and a half metres more than half its height. How tall is the giraffe?Let Height of giraffe = h m Given that The height of a giraffe is two and a half metres more than half its height So, we can write Height = ๐ ๐/๐ + ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐/๐ Putting values ๐=๐ ๐/๐+๐/๐ Converting mixed fraction to normal fraction โ=(2+1/2)+โ/2 โ=(2 ร 2 + 1)/2+โ/2 โ=(4 + 1)/2+โ/2 ๐=๐/๐+๐/๐ Moving h/2 right side, so it becomes โh/2 โโโ/2=5/2 ๐/๐=๐/๐ Moving 2 right side, so it multiplies โ=5/2 ร 2 ๐=๐ Thus, the giraffe is 5 meters tall.
