Question 6 A taxi driver charges a fixed fee of ₹800 per day plus ₹20 for each kilometer traveled. If the total cost for a taxi ride is ₹2200, determine the number of kilometres traveled.Let Number of kilometers travelled = k Give that A taxi driver charges a fixed fee of ₹800 per day plus ₹20 for each kilometer traveled, and total cost for a taxi ride is ₹2200 So, we can write Total cost = Fixed fee + Cost per kilometer × Number of kilometers Putting values 2200 = 800 + 20 × k 2200 = 800 + 20k Solving 2200 = 800 + 20k Putting 800 on left side, it becomes subtraction 2200 – 800 = 20k 1400 = 20k Putting 20k on left side, since we put variable on left side 20k = 1400 Putting 20 on right side, so it becomes division k = 𝟏𝟒𝟎𝟎/𝟐𝟎 k = 140/2 k = 70 Thus, taxi driver travelled 70 kilometers
