Question 2 Optical Illusion: Do you notice anything interesting about the following figure? How does this happen? Recreate this in your notebook. We can see another triangle here Do you notice anything interesting? Even though no one actually drew a white triangle in the middle, your brain "sees" one, doesn't it? It looks brighter than the white paper around it! How does this happen? This is called a Subjective Contour (or the Kanizsa Triangle). Your brain is a storytelling machine. When it sees the "Pac-Man" shapes (the black circles with wedges missing) and the corner brackets, it assumes there must be a white triangle sitting on top of them, blocking the view. It fills in the gaps for you! How to recreate this in your notebook? We follow these steps Draw an equilateral triangle (all sides equal) facing downwards. Lightly draw an equilateral triangle facing upwards Draw three circles, one centered on each corner of the triangle. The Magic Step: Color in the circles except for the slice that is inside your pencil triangle. Erase your original pencil triangle lines completely. The "ghost" triangle will appear!
