Constructing Regular HexagonsLet’s do this Construct a regular hexagon of sidelength 5 cm. We follow these steps Make side AB, AB = 5 cm From point A, make angle 60° outside Take compass 5 cm and mark point F on that 60° angle From AF extended, make angle 60° outside Take compass 5 cm and mark point E on that 60° angle Now, draw a horizontal line, parallel to AB, and mark point D such that ED = 5 cm From point B, make angle 60° outside Take compass 5 cm and mark point C on that 60° angle Join CD Our regular hexagon is drawn Let’s check it step-by-step Steps of Construction Construct side AB = 5 cm Extend AB from each side 3. On point A, from the extended side Make angle 60° to the left of A 4. Opening compass 5 cm, we mark point F on this angle 5. From point F, on the extended side Make angle 60° to the right of F 6. Opening compass 5 cm, we mark point E on this angle 7. From point E, make a horizontal line using ruler of length 5 cm 8. Mark point D at the line 9. On point B, from the extended side Make angle 60° to the right of B 10. Opening compass 5 cm, we mark point C on this angle 11. Join CD Thus, ABCDEF is the required hexagon
