Pattern 2Let’s look at this pattern 92 – 12 = 10 × 8 82 – 62 = 14 × 2 72 – 22 = 9 × 5 102 – 42 = 14 × 6 Basically, this pattern is a2 – b2 = (a + b) × (a – b) We prove this using Distributive property (a + b) (a – b) = a × (a – b) + b × (a – b) = a2 – ab + ba – b2 Since ab = ba = a2 – ab + a – b2 = a2 – b2 This is also our Identity Now, let’s do some questions
