Diagonals of RectanglesDiagonals of rectangle PQRS are PR and QS Now, these Diagonals divides our angles Diagonal PR divides ∠ P into ∠ a & ∠ b Diagonal QS divides ∠ Q into ∠ c & ∠ d Diagonal PR divides ∠ R into ∠ e & ∠ f Diagonal QS divides ∠ S into ∠ g & ∠ h If we make a rectangle of Length = 8 cm, Breadth = 4 cm We note that Angle a & b are not equal Similarly, c & d are not equal And, e & f are not equal Also, g & h are not equal The angles are approximately 26.5° & 63.5° Observation (Identifying Equal Pairs): When you measure all 8 angles, you will find a hidden pattern. The angles are equal in a "Z" or "alternate interior" pattern because the top and bottom sides of the rectangle are parallel. d = h c = g e = a f = b Now, let’s look at Diagonals of Squares
