Construct Square with a HoleConstruct a square with a single, perfectly centered circle inside The "hint" is the entire solution: the center of the circle must be the exact same point as the center of the square. We can find center of square using two methods Method 1 – Folding Method 2 – Using Diagonals Method 1 – Folding Let’s say square is of length 6 cm Half of the side = 3 cm To find center of square - Mark points 3 cm away from each corner Make horizontal and vertical lines Point of intersection of those lines is the center of the circle Method 2 – Diagonals Let’s say square is of length 6 cm Center of square is where both the diagonals meet Mark a line at exactly half the distance from Steps of Construction Construct square of 6 × 6 cm To find its center, lightly draw the two diagonals from corner to corner. The point where the two diagonals cross is the exact center of the square. Place the metal tip of your compass on this center point. Set your compass to any radius that is less than half the square's side length (for a 6x6 square, any radius less than 3 cm). Draw your circle.
