Question 2 Take a central line of a different length and try to draw the wave on it.Our wave looks like this Now, Length of Straight line = 2 × Diameter of circles Length of Straight line = 2 × (2 × Radius of circle) Length of Straight line = 4 × Radius of circle Let Radius of circle = 3 cm Thus, Length of straight line = 4 × 3 = 12 cm Now, we can construct our Wave similar to previous Steps of Construction First we draw line segment AB of length = 12 cm 1. Draw a line l mark point A on it 2. Since length is 12 cm, we measure 12 cm using ruler and compass 3. Now keeping compass opened the same length. We keep pointed end at point A, and draw an arc on line l So, the required line segment is (𝑨𝑩) ̅ = 12 cm To draw two semi-circles, we need to find its centers first Let X be point where two semi-circles meet Now, AX = 1/2 × AB = 1/2 × 12 = 6 cm Since AX is diameter Radius = 1/2 × AX = 1/2 × 6 = 3 cm Thus, we need to draw semi circles with center 3 cm from point and 3 cm from point B 4. Let’s mark centers as P and Q 5. Measuring 3 cm from ruler and compass 6. From point P, drawing half circle on top of AB 7. From point Q, drawing half circle on bottom of AB Thus, our required Wavy figure it formed Final figure looks like
