Constructing Person - Page 190We need to draw this Now, it has 2 parts Let’s look at how to draw each part individually Constructing Part 1 We have to draw a circle of any radius Let’s assume radius 3 cm 1. Mark point O as center 2. Since radius is 3 cm, we measure 3 cm using ruler and compass 3. Now keeping compass opened the same length. We keep pointed end at the center, and draw a circle using the pencil end of the compass. 4. We draw bottom line of 2 cm To do that, we take length of 3 cm (radius) + 2 cm from center And draw a straight line from edge of circle Now, we draw Part 2 Construction of Part 2 Here, we note that we have to make a 3 sides of a square which is bigger than diameter of circle Diameter of circle = 2 × 3cm = 6 cm So, let’s make a square of 7 cm 1. Use ruler to make square of side 7 cm We estimate where to make the rectangle using trial & error 2. Now, to make our arc, we put compass on center O We open compass big enough such that pencil end is at the end of the square, and then we draw an arc Thus, our required shape is formed
