Question 9 What is the parity of the 20th term of the Virahāṅka sequence? Now, our Virahāṅka–Fibonacci sequence is 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, … The sequence goes even, odd, odd, even, odd, odd, even, odd, odd, ... Lets write this term wise Term 2: Even (2) Term 3: Odd (3) Term 4: Odd (5) Term 5: Even (8) Term 6: Odd (13) Term 7: Odd (21) Term 8: Even (34) Thus, Term 7: Odd (21) Term 8: Even (34) Thus, we can say that 2nd term, 5th term, 8th term are even So, Terms which are even = 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23 Thus, 20th term will be even
