Supercells in a grid (Page 58) We can also have supercells with data in a grid (multiple rows and columns) Now, our definition is same – A supercell is greater than its neighbours Let’s look at the current table carefully Why 8632 is a Supercell The number 8632 is a supercell because it is larger than all four of its neighbors. Neighbors of 8632: Top: 4795 Bottom: 1944 Left: 4580 Right: 8280 Since 8632 is greater than 4795, 1944, 4580, and 8280, it is a supercell. Other Supercells in the Table 7500 is a supercell because it's greater than its neighbors: 2430, 7350, and 4795. 9870 is a supercell because it's greater than its neighbors: 7350 and 9230. 6034 is a supercell because it's greater than its neighbors: 5805 and 3446. Why a Cell is NOT a Supercell? Consider the number 9124. It's a large number, but it is not a supercell. Neighbors of 9124: Top: 7350 Bottom: 8280 Left: 4795 Right: 9230 Although 9124 is larger than three of its neighbors, it is smaller than its right neighbor (9230). So, it is not a supercell
