Communication services can be classified  into two categories :

A. Personal Communication 

B. Mass Communication

Features of Personal Communication

1. Communication between two or more people at the personal level is referred to as personal communication.
2. The Indian postal network is the world's largest postal network . It handles the parcels as well as personal written communication .
3. Telephone services like STD and ISD provide an easy and comfortable network to a large number of people. 
4. Examples of personal communications are cards, envelops, letters and emails.

Features of Mass Communication 

1. It is a mode of communication that allows you to communicate with several individuals at the same time.  
2. Mass communication provides entertainment and creates awareness among people about various national programs and policies. 
3. Radio, television, newspapers, periodicals, novels, and films are all examples of mass media.
