Ration shops also, known as Fair Price Shops , keep stock of food grains, sugar, and kerosene for cooking. These items are sold to people at a price lower than the market price. However, there are problems of functioning of the ration shops:

  1. Poor individuals receive food that is of lower quality than what is typical for foodgrains.

  2. The ration store deals commit fraud and fail to give the underprivileged the full amount they are due.

  3. Some ration shops don't open on a regular basis , which is uncomfortable for the underprivileged.

  4. Even incorrect entries are updated by ration shop owners under the names of the underprivileged.
