  • Ozone gas is present in the atmosphere
  • It prevents any harmful ultraviolet radiation reaching the earth from the sun. 
  • It absorbs the radiation and breaks down into oxygen .
    O 3 —> O 2 + O (in the presence of radiation)
  • Hence it saves human beings, plants and animals from the radiation and oil as a shield .
  • It is a chemical reaction.
