Write two advantages and disadvantages of bus topology.

 

Answer:

Advantages:

  • Cable required is least compared to other network topologies.
  • Bus topology can be extended easily on either side.

Disadvantages:

  • Becomes slow with the increase in number of nodes.
  • Only a single message can travel at a particular time.

  • It is cost effective.
  • Easy to connect and install.

Disadvantages:

  • The entire network shuts down if there is a failure in the central connecting cable.
  • Fault detection is difficult and time consuming.
