We use "an" with these
- an apple
- an elephant
- an intelligent man
- an umbrella
- an orange
Consonants
All other words are called consonants
Example
boy,cat,dog,snake
(All these do not start with a,e,i,o,u
We normally use "a" with these
- a boy
- a cat
- a dog
- a snake
However for some words we use "an" like
