Ex 11.1, 2 Find the area of a quadrant of a circle whose circumference is 22 cm. Area of quadrant = 1/4ร Area of circle = ๐/๐ ร ๐r2 Now, we need to find r. It is given that Circumference = 2ฯr 22 = 2ฯr 22/2 = ฯr 11 = ฯr 11/๐ = r r = ๐๐/๐ r = 11/(22/7) r = 11 ร 7/22 r = ๐/๐ cm Now, Area of quadrant = 1/4ร Area of circle = 1/4 ร ๐r2 = ๐/๐ร๐๐/๐ร(๐/๐)^๐ = 1/4ร22/7ร(7 ร 7)/(2 ร 2) = 1/2ร11/1ร7/4 = 77/8 cm2
