Ex 5.2, 2 In the adjoining figure, identify (i) the pairs of corresponding angles. For lines a and b, with transversal c. ∴ ∠1 and ∠5 are corresponding angles ∴ ∠2 and ∠6 are corresponding angles. ∠3 and ∠7 are corresponding angles. ∴ ∠4 and ∠8 are corresponding anglesSo, corresponding angles are ∠1 & ∠5 ∠2 & ∠6 ∠3 & ∠7 ∠4 & ∠8 Ex 5.2, 2 In the adjoining figure, identify (ii) the pairs of alternate interior anglesFor lines a and b, with transversal c. ∴ ∠2 and ∠8 are alternate interior angles. ∴ ∠3 and ∠5 are alternate interior angles. So, alternate interior angles are ∠2 & ∠8 ∠3 & ∠5 Ex 5.2, 2 In the adjoining figure, identify (iii) the pairs of interior angles on the same side of the transversal. For lines a and b, with transversal c. ∴ ∠2 and ∠5 are alternate interior angles on the same side of transversal. ∴ ∠3 and ∠8 are interior angles on the same side of the transversal. So, interior angles on same side of transversal are ∠2 & ∠5 ∠3 & ∠8 Ex 5.2, 2 In the adjoining figure, identify (iv) the vertically opposite angles.∴ ∠1 and ∠3 are vertically opposite angles ∠2 and ∠4 are vertically opposite angles For lines b and c ∴ ∠5 and ∠7 are vertically opposite angles. ∠6 and ∠8 are vertically opposite angles. So, vertically opposite angles are ∠1 & ∠3 ∠2 & ∠4 ∠5 & ∠7 ∠6 & ∠8
