To subtract decimal,

  first we convert them into fractions

  and

  then we cannot the final fraction into decimal.

 

Subtract 2.76 from 3.8

= 38/10 − 276/100

= 38/10 × 10/10 − 276/100

= 380/100 − 276/100

= ((380 - 276))/100

= 104/100

= 1.04
