Let's take some examples

 

20 ÷ 2

= 20/2

= 10 

 

(−20) ÷ 2

= (-20)/2

= −10 

 

20 ÷ (−2)

= 20/(-2)

= 20/(-2)

 = −10

 

(−20) ÷ (−2)

= (-20)/(-2)

= 20/2

= 10

 

Division by 1

 

20 ÷ 1

= 20/1

= 20

 

Number ÷ 1

= Number/1

= Number

 

Any number divided by 1 is the number itself
