If a number is divisible by another number,

It is divisible by all the factors of the number

Example 1

If a number is divisible by 6,

it is divisible by all the factors of 6

Factors of 6 are

  1 × 6 = 6

  2 × 3 = 6

  3 × 2 = 6

We stop here as 2 & 3 have occurred earlier

So, factors of 6 are 1, 2, 3, 6

So if a number is divisible 6

It is divisible by its factors 1, 2, 3, 6

Example 2

If a number is divisible by 18,

it is divisible by all the factors of 18

Factors of 18 are

  1 × 18 = 18

  2 × 9 = 18

  3 × 6 = 18

  6 × 3  = 18

We stop here as 6 & 3 have occurred earlier

So, factors of 18 are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

So if a number is divisible 18

It is divisible by its factors 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18
