Draw a labelled diagram of the structure of atmosphere.
๐ Concept: 3.3 Structure of the Atmosphere
Show Answer
| Layer | Altitude | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Troposphere | Surface–12 km | All our weather happens here |
| Stratosphere | Up to 50 km | Contains the ozone layer |
| Mesosphere | Up to 80 km | Most meteors burn up here |
| Thermosphere | 80–700 km | Home to auroras and radio waves |
| Exosphere | Outermost | Very thin air fading into space |
- Label the troposphere nearest the ground, up to 12 km.
- Above it, label the stratosphere , up to 50 km, with the ozone layer.
- Next comes the mesosphere , up to 80 km.
- Then the thermosphere , from 80 to 700 km.
- Finally, the exosphere at the very top, fading into space.
