What is a contextual synonym?

A synonym is a word with the same or nearly the same meaning as another word.

A word must also fit the exact sentence . Two words can be close in meaning but may not sound equally natural in every sentence.

Example: In “a bright student”, clever can replace bright . In “a bright lamp”, it cannot.
