Dear Diary, today was a heavy day. Nothing seemed to go right, and I felt completely alone, as if no one around me understood. In the evening, I put on my headphones and let the music play. Almost instantly, I felt the rhythm move something inside me, pulling me in like an ocean , deep and calming. Slowly, the sadness eased, as if the music itself was a kind of therapy . By the time the song ended, my spirits felt lifted again. I realised that on days when no one else seemed to care, music was the friend that was always there for me, just like in the poem we read in class. I did not need anyone to say the right words — the music said it all for me. I am grateful for this quiet companion.

Have you ever wondered why a single song can completely change your mood? The poem ‘A Friend Found in Music’ gives us the answer. The poet describes music as an ocean that pulls us in and a rhythm that moves us from within. In sad moments, music works like therapy , lifting the spirits and making us feel stronger again. In happy times, it joins the celebration, and in lonely moments, it becomes a needed friend when no one else seems to care. This is true for all of us — whether we are studying, relaxing, or simply having a difficult day, music quietly stands beside us. Unlike people, it never judges and is always available. The poem reminds us to notice and value this constant companion in our lives. So the next time a song comforts you, remember — you have found a true friend in music.
